Create Member Only Pages in Wix

Create Member Only Pages in Wix

You can hide content on your web pages from non-members by placing a snippet on your page in the same way as when adding feature snippets.

You cannot use this with another of our snippets on the same page. For example, you cannot use the member only snippet with the snippet for the event calendar on the same page.

This snippet hides content on the user's browser, but it does not prevent web crawlers (such as Google) from indexing the content. To prevent web crawlers from indexing the content you need to block the pages from indexing through Wix.

Where to find the Member Only snippet

This snippet can be generated under Wix Member Only Snippets

Step by Step Instructions

  1. Click on Add Strip and add a blank Classic strip above the content you want to hide - all strips below this strip will be hidden from non-members.
  2. Click on the Stretched button on the strip and select Page.
  3. Click on the Add button, select Input > Text > Text Box and drop it onto the strip created in the first step.
  4. Resize the text box to the appropriate width. The height of the text box is not important and can be left as default.
  5. Click on the Settings button for the text box.
  6. Under Show initial text select Placeholder text.
  7. Use the drop down below to select the member only snippet, then copy the snippet from the Wix Member Only Snippets generator  and paste it into the Placeholder text setting.
Info
Only users who are signed in on an account that is in one of the selected folders/labels will be able to view the content. If the user's membership is expired, the setting under Organization Settings > Integration > Membership Settings control how long after their membership expired before they lose access to the content.
