Create A Member Only Directory
You can make all or part of your Member Directory private for members only. If you only want to hide part of the directory from non-members, you can restrict the visibility settings on the applicable tabs or boxes in the Directory Profile template. If you want to make the entire directory members only, you should restrict the visibility settings on each tab in the Directory Profile template.
We've included instructions for both options below.
Option 1 - Hide One Section of the Member Directory From Non-Members
Step 1: Locate Directory Profile Template
Go to MembershipWorks > Customization > Directory Profile.
Step 2: Select Desired Directory Box to Hide
Click on the box on the right that you want to be visible to members only, such as the Picture Gallery box.
Step 3: Enable Member Only Visibility
Next to Visibility, select the third option - Show only if user viewing page has any of these folders/labels. Below this, click to select the members that you want to be able to view the directory. Click OK when complete.
Step 4: Repeat Steps to Hide Other Directory Boxes
Repeat Steps 2-3 for each tab or box that you want to make visible to Members Only and then click Save Template on the left when complete.
Option 2 - Make the Entire Member Directory Members Only
Following the steps below will ensure that members will need to be logged in to their account in order to view the member directory.
Step 1: Locate Directory Profile Template
Go to MembershipWorks > Customization > Directory Profile.
Step 2: Select Tab
Click on the first tab title on the right. (This tab is titled About unless you have renamed it.)
Step 3: Enable Member Only Visibility
Next to Visibility, select the third option - Show only if user viewing page has any of these folders/labels. Below this, click to select the members that you want to be able to view the directory. Click OK when complete.
Step 4: Repeat Steps to Hide All Tabs
Repeat Step 2-3 for each tab title such as the Deals! tab title and then click Save Template on the left when complete.
If every tab in the Directory Profile template requires a folder/label in order to view that tab, then members will be required login to view the directory.
