Add a Printable Membership Card or Certificate for Members

Printable HTML Box For Membership Templates

The Printable HTML box allows you to place HTML with the member's information on the member account templates. It can be used to create printable membership cards, printable certificates, and more. Please consult with a developer if you cannot work directly with HTML.

To make your HTML printable, you should reference sizes and positions using "in" (inch), "cm" (centimeters), "pt" (points), etc. We use a default font size of 11pt inside the box if you enable the printing feature.

The following is an example of a credit card sized membership card (3.5 inch by 2.25 inch):

Steps to Add a Printable Membership Card For Your Members

  1. Copy the code in the yellow box above.
  2. Go to MembershipWorks > Customization > Member Admin.
  3. Scroll down on the right and click + Add Box at the bottom of the page.
  4. Next to Box title, enter "Membership Card".
  5. Next to Box type, select HTML from the drop down.
  6. Next to HTML template, paste in the code that you copied from the yellow box.
  7. Check the box next to Show print button to let user print this box.
  8. Click OK at the bottom of the box.
  9. Click Save Template on the left.
After adding the membership card to the Member Admin template, you can preview it in a member's profile on the admin side by following these steps:
  1. Go to MembershipWorks > All Accounts and click on a member's account.
  2. Click the Profile link at the top.
  3. Scroll down to the box titled Membership Card to view the card.
If you would like to edit the membership card after viewing it, such as changing the title from Membership Card to your organization's name, go back to MembershipWorks > Customization > Member Admin to make the necessary edits to the Membership Card box.

After making changes, click the Save Template button and go back to a member's account to preview it again. After you have the card customized as you want the members to view it, you can follow the steps below to add it to the member's profiles:
  1. Go to MembershipWorks > Customization > Member Admin.
  2. Click on the Membership Card box and copy the code from the HTML template box.
  3. Go to MembershipWorks > Customization > Member Manage.
  4. Scroll down on the right and click + Add Tab at the bottom of the page.
  5. Next to Tab title, enter a one word title such as Card and click OK.
  6. Click + Add Box under this tab.
  7. Next to Box title, enter a title such as Membership Card.
  8. Next to Box type, select HTML from the drop down.
  9. Next to HTML template, paste in the code that you copied from the HTML template box in the Member Admin template (step 2 above)
  10. Check the box next to Show print button to let user print this box.
  11. Click OK at the bottom of the box.
  12. Click Save Template on the left.

[x__] - Custom field - use the 2-letter identifier (in lower case) after the "x". For example for "LF", the shortcode would be [xlf].
